This module provides opportunities for practical coaching experience and evaluates your understanding of the core coaching practices from Modules 1–6. You will demonstrate your readiness to coach independently through applied scenarios and a final knowledge check.
Apply coaching strategies in real learner interactions
Demonstrate inclusive and psychologically safe communication
Support learner independence and resilience
Make ethical and responsible use of AI as a learning tool
Recognise when boundaries or escalation are needed
Optional enrichment includes shadowing experienced coaches to observe and reflect on professional practice.
If available, observe at least one coaching session (in-person or virtually):
Focus on:
How the coach builds trust and psychological safety
Types of questions asked and listening behaviours
How frustration, imbalance, or bias is addressed
Any strategies you might apply in your own coaching
After each session, reflect briefly on:
What worked well
What challenges arose
What you would try differently next time
How you supported learner autonomy and wellbeing
This experience helps build confidence in real coaching scenarios.
(Required) The final assessment checks understanding of key concepts from Modules 1–6 and your ability to apply them thoughtfully.
A short quiz covering:
Coaching vs. teaching vs. mentoring
Setting expectations and psychological safety
Active listening and constructive feedback
Growth mindset encouragement
AI as a learning tool and ethical considerations
Managing frustration, boundaries, and escalation
To complete the programme, learners must:
Pass the Module 7 Final Assessment 100%
Optional Extras:
Submit reflection from shadowing experience (if completed)
Complete at least five hours of practical coaching experience
Completion confirms readiness to coach with confidence, professionalism, and learner-centred values.
